Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6/11/2026

1. Data Collection

VectorCode is a local, open-source tool. By default, it processes your code locally to generate vector embeddings. The tool does not collect, store, or transmit your source code to external servers unless you explicitly configure it to use a cloud-based embedding provider (like OpenAI or Gemini).

2. Third-Party Providers

If you choose to use cloud-based models (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini) for embeddings instead of local ones (like ONNX or Ollama), your code chunks will be sent to those providers. In such cases, the privacy policies and data handling practices of those respective providers will apply. We encourage you to review them.

3. Telemetry and Analytics

We do not track your usage, queries, or the structure of your codebase. This website may use basic analytics to understand traffic, but the VectorCode CLI and MCP Server operate strictly within the confines of your configured environment.

4. Changes to this Policy

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be reflected on this page.
